Against All Odds Rise was recently featured by KSAT for our ongoing work to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community. The segment highlighted our mission to reduce fear, build understanding, and foster meaningful relationships between officers and young people across San Antonio.
In the article, KSAT shared how Founder Emery Johnson and the AAOR team have grown the organization into a year-round initiative that creates space for open dialogue and connection in schools, churches, and community centers. The story also noted the positive outcomes we’ve already seen — with many students inspired to pursue careers in criminal justice and community service after engaging with our programs.
“We know the next generation needs to understand and have different perspectives,” Johnson said. “They don’t have to go based on social media or what they’re hearing from other people. They can go directly to the source and actually speak to officers.”
The segment also promoted our upcoming Faith & Blue Conversation, scheduled for October 10th, 1–3 p.m. at LYND (4499 Pond Hill Road) — another step in building unity and understanding in our city.
