AAOR Experience

At Against All Odds Rise (AAOR), we are thrilled to introduce The AAOR Experience, a groundbreaking program designed to bring the community closer to the realities of policing. This initiative allows participants to step into the shoes of an officer, fostering empathy, understanding, and collaboration between community members and law enforcement.

The program takes place at the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) Training Academy, where participants will gain firsthand knowledge of the rules of engagement (ROE) that guide an officer’s actions in the field. This immersive experience includes interactive sessions led by seasoned SAPD instructors who provide insights into decision-making under pressure, legal protocols, and the challenges officers face daily.

A highlight of the program is the use of cutting-edge simulation technology. Participants role-play real-life scenarios, making split-second decisions in dynamic and unpredictable situations. These simulations not only provide a glimpse into the complexity of an officer’s responsibilities but also open the door for meaningful conversations about how law enforcement and communities can work together to navigate these challenges effectively.
